Richard L. Harshberger Sr., 66, a long-term resident of Valley View Home, passed away Monday after an extended illness.
Surviving are three children: Richard Jr. and wife, Katie, Brian and wife, Sherry, and Jennifer and longtime boyfriend, Cris; three beloved grandchildren: Denice and Danielle in North Carolina and Frank Musaraca of Altoona; and friend and former wife, Eileen Bagley.
Richard was a former volunteer firefighter with Mill Run Volunteer Fire Department and an avid outdoorsman.

To honor Richard's wishes, there will be no funeral service, and his remains have been donated for medical research.
Arrangements are by E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home Inc., 2309 Broad Ave., Altoona.
