Maude R. Yeatts, 86, of 409 Eveningtide Ave., Altoona, formerly of 5729 Maryland Ave., Altoona, died Tuesday at Altoona Regional after an extended illness.

She was born in Coupon, daughter of the late Patrick and Anna (Burns) Carrig. She married Walter Yeatts, who died July 23, 1988.

Surviving are a son, Deacon Bernard (Patricia) of San Diego, Calif.; four daughters: Linda Burns (Nelson) of Altoona, Cynthia Hopper of Altoona, Mary Catherine Schroeder (T.R.) of Altoona and Monica Hillegass (Rick) of Imler; 14 grandchildren: Missy, Steven, Kristina, Janine, Brenda, Christopher, Sweetie, Brian, Aaron, David, Julia, R.J., Corey and Brandon; numerous great-grandchildren; and a sister, Judy Clouser of Altoona.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: John and Joseph Carrig; seven sisters: Helen Balzano, Mary Jane Young, Faye Aughenbaugh, Betty Cortina, Leona Ronan, Ruth Beldin and Ethel McIntire; two grandchildren: Buck Wyland and John Rafferty; and a son-in-law, Jack Hopper.

Maude had worked in the Full Fashion Department of Warnaco for 42 years. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed the Pittsburgh Steelers and Notre Dame and playing bingo.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church by Father Brian Saylor. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Home Nursing Agency Hospice, 201 Chestnut Ave., P.O. Box 352, Altoona, PA 16603.
