David N. Davis, 71, Altoona, died early Friday morning at Altoona Regional after a brief illness.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Ed and Eva M. (Noland) Langguth. He married Judy G. Stiffler on April 13, 1963.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Tamela R. Tantius of Altoona; a granddaughter, Kylee Tantius; two brothers: Donald and Charles Shaffer; a sister, Evelyn McCloskey; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Robert Shaffer and Ralph Davis; and two sisters: Betty Eger and Luella Karl.
David was a 1959 graduate of Altoona High School. He retired from the Public Works Department for the City of Altoona after more than 40 years of service. He was a member of Christ Community United Methodist Church, Altoona.
David enjoyed hunting, fishing and dancing and was a member of the Bavarian Aid Society. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His family and friends were everything to him.
A funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Blair County Special Olympics, P.O. Box 648, Altoona, PA 16603.
