Bands unite for concert
UNIVERSITY PARK - Preservation Hall Jazz Band and The Del McCoury Band will open the Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State 20122013 season in a concert mixing lively New Orleans jazz with bluegrass. The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 28 in Eisenhower Auditorium.

Wiz Khalifa heads to BJC
UNIVERSITY PARK - Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa will bring his "The 2050 Tour" to the Bryce Jordan Center at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 12. The tour also features special guests Juicy J, Chevy Woods, Lola Monroe, Berner and Tuki Carter.
Khalifa is best known for the Pittsburgh pride anthem "Black and Yellow," which hit No. 1 in 2010 and for his collaboration with Maroon 5, "Payphone," which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this year. He'll release his second studio album, "O.N.I.F.C.," on Sept. 18.

New exhibits to open
Exhibitions of work by Michael Radyk and Kristen Letts Kovak will be on display in the McLanahan and Sheetz Galleries of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts Thursday through Oct. 14. A reception will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sept. 6 in the Titelman Study of the Center.
Radyk's most recent exhibition, "Outside/ Inside the Box," was part of the international art biennial, FiberPhiladelphia. Currently, Radyk is Professor of Fibers at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania.
Kovak lives in Pittsburgh, where she teaches art at Carnegie Mellon and Seton Hill Universities. Kovak has exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the East Coast and Mid-West. Most recently, she had solo exhibitions at the Maryland Institute College of Art and the Arts Club of Washington.
Zac Brown returning
The Zac Brown Band will bring its latest tour to the Bryce Jordan Center at 7 p.m. Oct. 10. The opening acts for the concert are Blackberry Smoke and Levi Lowrey.
