Robert J. Burgoon, 91, formerly of Altoona, died Thursday at Rustic Manor Personal Care Home, Indiana, Pa., after a brief illness.
He was born in Ridgeway, son of Louis and Catherine (Ergler) Burgoon. He married Agnes M. Walker on Oct. 23, 1982, in Altoona, and she preceded him in death on Dec. 14, 2008.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul, and is survived by several nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Robert was a 1939 graduate of Altoona High School. He retired in 1982 from SKF as a machinist and was a member of Tyrone Elks. He enjoyed hunting, golfing and his car.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday in Stevens Memorial Chapel by Pastor Peter Helmers. Interment will be at St Mary's Cemetery, Altoona.
