Now that the dirty deed is done, Republican leaders in Harrisburg admit the real reason for voter ID was to put Pennsylvania in the Mitt Romney column by suppressing some votes in Philadelphia.
It is interesting that the party that was responsible for the only major voting scandal in the last 50 years felt the need to waste millions of tax dollars to solve a problem that never existed in the first place.
These are the same people who saw nothing wrong when Jeb Bush took 16,000 legitimate black voters off the voting rolls in Florida a month before the 2000 election - the only reason Bush won in Florida and became president.
Republicans are pretty pleased with themselves in the 17 or so states they pushed voter ID laws through thinking they probably will succeed in stealing two of the last four presidental elections.
