Ward Mays, 94, Ramey, died Monday at Clearfield Hospital. He was born in Houtzdale, son of Will and Jennie (Johnston) Mays. Surviving are his wife, Marybell (Stephens), whom he married Jan. 1, 1944, in Irvona; three daughters: Ruth Saupp of Smithmill, Jane Zapsky of Madera and Marie Fox of Ramey; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson; two brothers: Carl and Luther; and a sister, Lenora Spotts. At Ward's request, there will be no public visitation. A service will be announced at a later date.
