I like having a nice, well-maintained state park to take my family to. I like the fact that there are people trained to care for others who can't care for themselves. I like police officers, firefighters, nurses and teachers.
With that in mind, I don't mind paying taxes that pay state workers their wages and benefits. What I don't like are the wealthy business owners who betray their patriotism to make a profit by outsourcing jobs. When they do hire American citizens, they pay the lowest wage they can get away with. This is one, and only one, of the reasons that unions exist.
When jobs are outsourced, someone in this country loses . Lower taxes are paid; welfare and unemployment rises.
This damages our economy, but as long as the wealthy get wealthier, who cares? They need another Mercedes and beach home.
I have spoken to some younger people, not wealthy, about how they feel about their jobs as a blue collar workers. They love this country but feel more and more everyday that they only work to make some rich person richer.
Is this how we want our future generation to continue - making the wealthy wealthier? You will see a rise in unions.
