As a small business owner in Cambria County, I'm puzzled by the Romney campaign's attacks on President Barack Obama. To say that President Obama doesn't support small business owners could not be further from the truth.
About 18 months ago, I opened my very own small business here in Ebensburg, which has now grown to 10 employees. Because of a tax break from the federal government, the costs of my kitchen equipment decreased over time, allowing me to stay in the black. Without that money, I may not have lasted this long. President Obama's policies have helped me sustain my business and create more jobs.
The policies Mitt Romney is proposing would do the opposite, burdening small businesses like mine in favor of giving tax breaks to the very wealthy.
President Obama supports entrepreneurs, and my restaurant is evidence of that commitment. I can't say the same for Romney.
