Frederick Eugene Wert, 80, died Tuesday at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, where he resided. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Simon L. and Suzanne May (Clapper) Wert. Surviving are a brother, Simon; a sister, Cora Mae Fisher; and his niece and caregiver, Doris A. Lowey. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or service. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata.
