A. Irene Biddle

Alverta Irene Biddle, 79, rural Williamsburg, went home to be with the Lord early Sunday morning at Golden LivingCenter-Hillview after an extended illness.

She was born in Huston Township, rural Williamsburg, daughter of the late Earl and Grace (Snowberger) Kensinger. She married Fred E. Biddle Jr. on Sept. 6, 1952, in Beavertown, rural Martinsburg.

Surviving are her husband of almost 60 years; two daughters: Kimberly Ann Umstead at home and Michele Irene Biddle; a son, Douglas Alan Biddle of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren; and a sister, Marie Cole in Indiana.

She was preceded in death by three brothers: Richard, Robert and Eugene; and a sister, Betty McConahy.

Irene was a 1951 graduate of Williamsburg High School. She presently attended Williamsburg Independent Bible Baptist Church, rural Williamsburg, and formerly attended Calvary Baptist Church, rural Huntingdon. She was a homemaker who enjoyed flower gardening, sewing and doing crafts.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Williamsburg Independent Bible Baptist Church, rural Williamsburg. A public graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg, followed by an 11 a.m. public memorial service at her church with Pastor Joseph D. Weber officiating.

The family prefers that memorial contributions be given to the Women's Missionary Society, c/o Williamsburg Independent Bible Baptist Church.

Arrangements are by John C. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.
