LEADING OFF: RHP Kyle Kaminska, acquired from the Marlins in the Gorkys Hernandez for Gaby Sanchez trade, was assigned to the Curve on Wednesday. Kaminska, 23, was 6-3 with a 5.11 ERA in 31 relief appearances for Double-A Jacksonville and 0-1 with a 6.23 ERA in two games for Triple-A New Orleans.
SAFE AT FIRST: To make room for Kaminska, LHP Jhonathan Ramos was sent to high-A Bradenton. Ramos is 2-1 with a 2.61 ERA in 13 relief outings for the Curve.
STEALING SECOND: SS Brock Holt went into Wednesday's action leading the EL in hitting at .323. He went 1-for-5 to finish the night at .322. If Holt can finish strong and win the EL batting title, it would make two years in a row for a Curve player (Starling Marte won it in 2011).
ROUNDING THIRD: RHP Vic Black pitched two scoreless innings of relief and struck out six Wednesday night. He struck out the first six he faced, although one reached on a wild pitch in the ninth, then induced a groundout to end his night.
HEADING HOME: The Curve are 21-33 on the road, compared to 33-22 at home.
