Dolores A. Hartman, 78, The Winds at Mattern Orchard, Duncansville, formerly of Duncansville, went home to be with the Lord Sunday at The Winds after an extended illness.
She was born in Hollidaysburg, daughter of Clayton G. Bice and Dorothy (Sharrow) Bice-Shawley. She married James S. Hartman on June 22, 1956, at Calvary Baptist Church, Altoona.
Surviving are her husband; a son, Brian T. and wife, Melody, of Duncansville; and two grandchildren: Benjamin and Cherith.

She was preceded in death by a brother, John Bice.
Dolores was a 1951 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She received a registered nursing degree in 1954 from the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing, a B.S.N. degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her Letter of Equivalency for Master's Degree from the Department of Education. She was employed as a school nurse at Hollidaysburg Area Junior High School from 1975 until her retirement in 1993.
Dolores was a member of Puzzletown Road Bible Church. She enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, golfing and spending time with her grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral service Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Pastors Lynn Johnston and John Gross officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
