Donald P. Galligan, 92, Altoona, died Tuesday morning at his residence.
He was born in Altoona, son of Charles and Katherine (Beck) Galligan. He married Jean M. Frantz on Dec. 12, 1944, in Lancaster.
Surviving are his wife, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage; two daughters: Coleen M. Lucas and husband, Bradley, of Altoona and Rosemary A. Galligan of Pittsburgh; two granddaughters: Stephanie and Karen; two great-granddaughters: Bryanna and Alyssa; and a sister, Dorothy Werner of Altoona.
Donald was a 1937 graduate of Altoona High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, serving in Africa. He had been employed by Johnson and Higgins of Pittsburgh and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery with military honors.
