John J. Malloy Jr., 88, Vintondale, died Thursday. He was the son of John and Mary Malloy. Surviving are his wife, Olive; children: Diane Boring, Patricia Saylor, Laurie Gergely, Lynda Claar, Vicki Strayer, Kevin, Keith, Dale and Mike; 36 grandchildren; and a sister, Gertrude Gibson. He was preceded in death by children: Sharon Boothby and John III; and siblings: Harry, William, Edward and Mary. John was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty Glo, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2012.
