Jeanne K. Muri, 70, The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg, formerly of Altoona, died Thursday at the home after an extended illness.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late LeRoy and Ruth (Hufford) Knight. She married William F. Muri Jr. on Oct. 10, 1981, and he preceded her in death July 18, 1997.
Surviving are a brother, Travis A. Knight and wife, Nancy, of Burke, Va.; a nephew, Brian Knight and wife, Michelle, of San Jose, Calif.; a niece, Amy Sullivan and husband, Tim, of Alexandria, Va.; and a special friend, Linda McCall of Hollidaysburg.

Jeanne was a graduate of Eastern High School, Baltimore, Md., and a graduate of the University of Baltimore. She retired from United Way of Greater Johnstown as director of employment and youth training. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Altoona, where she was on the Vestry, was a Eucharistic minister and was a pastoral care visitor.
Jeanne served on the board of Improved Dwellings for Altoona Inc., where she served as assistant treasurer from 2003-08 and first vice president from 2008 to the present. She also served on the board of directors of Housing Opportunities of Blair County Inc. and Bell Mansion Apartments Inc.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2012, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2012, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church by the Rev. Frederick M. Miller. Interment will be held at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
