Sharon E. Benton, 63, Claysburg, passed away Sunday at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring.
She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of Shirley (Smith) Claar and the late Mayberry Claar. She married Larry D. Benton on Sept. 12, 1967, in Cumberland, Md.
Surviving are her husband; her mother; a son, Scott and wife, Kathie, of Claysburg; two grandchildren: Brandon and Alexis, both of Claysburg; a brother, Terry Claar and wife, Anita, of Imler; a sister-in-law, Deb Claar; two nieces: Alicia Gearhart and Trisha Claar; and three nephews: Terry and Mike Claar and Marshall Dicken.

She was preceded in death by a brother, David J. Claar.
Sharon was a 1966 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School. She was employed at Cove Shoe Co., Martinsburg, for more than 35 years. She was a member of Trinity Reformed Church, Osterburg, and she loved her dogs, flowers, walking and being outdoors.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012, Pastor Charlie Miller officiating. Interment will be at Greenfield Cemetery.
