Cmd. Scott Edward Haluska, DMD, 48, U.S. Navy, Patton, passed away Friday at Walter Reed National Medical Center, Bethesda, Md.
He was born in Spangler, son of George and Saundra (Stoltz) Haluska of Patton.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Heather (Cunningham) Haluska; and their sons, Marek and Leo Haluska, all of Patton; grandmother, Marion Stoltz, Patton; sister, Suzanne Carter, wife of Bryan, Lovettesville, Va.; and brother, Michael Haluska, and Alecia, New Castle, Australia.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Milton Stoltz; and paternal grandparents; Dr. Edward and Louise Haluska.
Scott received a doctorate of dental medicine degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He received a pediatric dental degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, where he became board certified. Scott attained a master's degree in Hospital Health Administration and was a faculty member of the Naval Post Graduate Dental School, Bethesda, Md.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at McCabe Funeral Home, Patton. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton, Father Ananias Buccicone, OSB, and Father John Geinzer, Navy Chaplain, concelebrants. Committal will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Patton. Military honors will be by local veterans' organizations. The Haluska family is being served by Moriconi Funeral Home Inc., Northern Cambria, and McCabe Funeral Home, Patton.
Scott was a loving son, husband and father who will be sadly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in Scott's memory to Patton Borough Park Pool, c/o Patton Borough Office, P.O. Box 175, Patton, PA 16668.
