John W. Archdeacon, 93, Six Mile Run, passed away Tuesday at the home of his son in East Freedom.
He was born in Philadelphia, son of the late George and Martha Archdeacon. He married Dorothy B. Fox, who preceded him in death Nov. 10, 1994.
Surviving are three sons: John F. and wife, Jean, of East Freedom, Frederick of Six Mile Run and James of Collingdale; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
John retired as a boilermaker from Chevron Petroleum in 1981. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a member of the Saxton American Legion and VFW.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2012, at the home of his son, John, 274 Shoenfelt St., East Freedom. For information and directions, call 317-5739.
