Paul Nicholas Sinesi, 79, of Naples, Fla., died Thursday after a battle with lung cancer.

He was born in New York City, then moved with his parents and was raised in Boston, Mass., where he attended Boston Latin School and then received his Bachelor of Arts degree in math at Boston College in 1953. He served in both active and reserve service with the United States Navy as (retired) lieutenant commander.

Surviving are a son, Michael (Carol) of Framingham, Mass.; a daughter, Dominique of Springfield, Va; six grandchildren: Melina, Nicholas, Andrew, Isobel Danielle, Alexandra and Peter; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his loving wife, Nancy, and her children: Vicki of Whitehouse Station, N.J., Don and his daughter, Mary Lynn, of Marietta, Ga., and Randy and Christine of Mechanicsburg. He will also be dearly missed by his devoted family and loving friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Denyse.

He was a longtime member and avid golfer at the Lely Resort Golf and Country Club, where he also played piano with The Classics Trio. He was a member of The Blairmont Club and Scotch Valley in Hollidaysburg. He was a patron of the Alliance Francaise USA network in Boston and Bonita Springs, Fla., and a member of the Italian Cultural Society.

Paul loved music and enjoyed The Naples Philharmonic, particularly the opera.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Fuller Funeral Home, 4735 Tamiami Trail East, Naples, FL. A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2012, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 5025 Rattlesnake Hammock Road.

Inurnment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Paul's name may be made to Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, FL 34105 or St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church building fund.
