Eileen Bridget Law Stephenson Moyer, 52, Altoona, was called to the Lord on Wednesday. She was born in Ohio, the third of seven daughters born to Thomas J. and Joyce D. Moyer. She was a proud and loving mother, daughter, sister and aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She lived most of her life in State College.
Surviving are two sons: Kenneth T. Law and Christopher J. Law and wife, Chara, all in California; her mother, Joyce D. Moyer of Altoona; six sisters: Kathleen McGranaghan and husband, John, of Tabernacle, N.J., Colleen Cecere and husband, Leonard, of Tyrone, Joleen Hindman and husband, Shawn, of DuBois, Laureen Palmer and husband, John, of Hilton Head, S.C., Bernadeen Harlow and husband, Matthew, of Port Matilda and Christeen Kisslak and husband, Jay, of State College; and14 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas J. Moyer, who passed away Nov. 4, 2010.
Eileen retired from Penn State University after 22 years of service. After retiring, she volunteered for the American Red Cross. Her proudest service was a three-week deployment to Baton Rouge, La., after Hurricane Katrina. She was devoted to our Lord and attended Mass regularly and served as a Eucharistic minister.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Westerly Parkway, State College, with Father Matthew Baum officiating.
Interment will immediately follow the funeral Mass at Pine Hall Cemetery, West College Avenue, State College.
