Daniel R. Ceccoli, 75, Indiana, Pa., formerly of Hastings, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born in 1936 in Wilkes-Barre, son of the late Gerimo and Mary (Toth) Ceccoli.
Surviving are his wife of almost 52 years, Carolyn J. "Chubby" (Sabella), whom he wed on July 9, 1960; a daughter, Angela M. Corte and husband, Mark, of Indiana; a sister, Alice Nastawa and husband, Frank, of Toms River, N.J.; a brother, Jerry and wife, Anna Marie, of Soyerstown; four sisters-in-law: E. Honey Chervenak of Jennerstown, Tootsie Sabella of Northern Cambria, Dolores Hoover and husband, Hal, of Patton and Theresa Golias and husband, John, of Johnstown; a brother-in-law, Joseph Januszko of Plains; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends: Silvo Corte, Mary and Ivan Yankivch, Albert and Louise Corte, Elsie Corte, Marcia, Mike, Alexi and Vince Belice, Cindy Stiffler and Lynn Newman, all of Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Romeo and Carmella Sabella; a brother, John; and a sister, Lillian Januszko.
Daniel played college football for Mansfield University while completing his undergraduate studies. He received his master's degree from Scranton University and received his doctorate degree from Penn State University. He retired as the junior-senior high school principal from the Glendale School District. During his retirement, he helped various funeral homes in the Northern Cambria area.
Daniel was a member of St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church in Hastings, the Knights of Columbus and Alhambra, and he was a life member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association and National Education Association. He enjoyed golf, working crossword puzzles, spending time with family and good food, and he was an avid pet lover.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, Pa. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2012, their 52nd wedding anniversary, at St. Thomas More University Parish, Indiana, with Father Michael Sikon as celebrant. Entombment will be at St. Bernard Cemetery.
