Columnist Connie Schultz asks the bishops to turn down their rhetoric when it comes to teaching their faith.
As some sort of guideline, she mentions a Gallup poll. Schultz's faith, morals or values might be determined by Gallup polls, but the Catholic faith is not.
The bishops have a responsibility to teach the Catholic faith, unfortunately the results of the "poll" only shows what a poor job they have done.
The new Health and Human Services' mandate takes away the religious freedom from every American, not just Catholics. You want us to accept denying our faith so you and others can get sex and have us pay for it.
The Catholic teaching on morality is the same for men and women.
The idea this is about "women rights" is a farce and only a moron truly believes this. If Schultz does, then her educators have done about as good a job as educating her as our bishops have done educating Catholics.
She want to make it about "women's rights."
For decades some feminists have said "stay out of our bedrooms" so they can have the "right" to snuff out the life of their child. Now, it's come into our bedrooms because I want to have so much sex that I need a government to pay for it. Disgusting!
I don't care how much sex you want to have; just don't reach into my pocket to pay for it. The ills of today's society are caused by the irresponsible behavior that Schultz promotes. She is not a true feminist because she lacks love for the person.
I, for one, am tired of being told to play nice with an immoral monster while people attack my faith and ask me to pay for their shenanigans.
Between the HHS mandate and his stance on homosexual marriage, the president has attacked the core of all religious freedom and is a beacon for immorality.
As Catholics living in America, we should be defended against losing our freedom of religion.
The president has insulted all people of faith, and the bishops are finally doing the right thing. I will not give up my God for politics or polls, and I hope other Americans wake up and join me.
Shepherds, it's time to defend the sheep. Turn up the volume.
