Dawn R. Hollen, 39, Bellwood, died unexpectedly Sunday at her home.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Duane W. Hollen and the late Mary Ruth (Carothers) Hollen.
Surviving are a daughter, Jendee E. McElhinney at home; her father; a brother, James W. (Sherrie) Hollen of Altoona; a sister, Camela L. Hollen of Bellwood; Elizabeth Soult, who was raised in the home; five nephews: Matthew, Charlie, Jimmy, Duane and Colin Hollen; Peggy and Edna Putt, who resided with the Hollen family; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother, U.S. Army Spc. 4th Class Duane W. Hollen Jr., who was killed in action in Iraq in 1991.
Dawn was employed as assistant manager of the Payless Shoe Store, Altoona. She enjoyed playing cards and taking vacations with her daughter.
Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday with Pastor William Glunt officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Altoona.
