Arvilla K. Bankert, 90, Altoona, died Sunday at Altoona Regional.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Walter S. and Kathryn (Lyman) McGrain. She married Donald J. Bankert on April 17, 1941, in Altoona, and he died Dec. 4, 2002.
Surviving are a son, Ronald L. (Linda) of Altoona; a daughter, Patricia Perez (Juan) of Nipomo, Calif.; five grandchildren: Ronda Rimbeck, Ronald Jr., Philip Risoldi, Wendy Bates and Cherie Hubbell; eight great-grandchildren; and three nieces and nephews: Scott McGrain, Peggy Rayder and Carol McClure.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Riling; and a brother, Charles.
Arvilla was a 1940 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired from the domestic department of Kmart after 10 years of service. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, and she enjoyed camping.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
