BINGHAMTON - It was a different night, but the same recipe for the Curve in a winning effort.
Behind a sharp effort from Tim Alderson and an ample amount of offense, the Curve pulled away from Binghamton, 8-2, for their third straight win Saturday at NYSEG Stadium.
Altoona, which scored 11 runs on 14 hits Friday against Harrisburg, continued to do things well at the plate against the B-Mets.
The team was held without a run and just one hit through the first four innings, but scored three runs in the fifth inning, as well as two in each the sixth and seventh before tacking on one more in the eighth to pull away from Binghamton.
Matt Curry and Brock Holt each had very productive nights, as Curry went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and Holt had two hits while driving in three runs. Holt's two-run single in the fifth inning broke a 1-1 tie and Curry's three-hit night was his fist since coming off the disabled list June 20.

The Curve's first baseman has been on fire upon returning from a hamstring injury and in the 10 games he's played in since coming back, Curry is hitting .395 and currently owns a seven-game hitting streak.
While Curry's hitting streak continued Saturday, Robbie Grossman's ended.
Grossman entered the contest with a hit in his last 13 games - the longest hitting streak of any Curve player. And though the Curve had 10 hits, Grossman was 0-for-3 with two walks. During the streak, Grossman raised his average 30 points from .215 to .245.
Tim Alderson started for Altoona and got his first of June on the month's final day. Alderson (4-3) went six innings and gave up two runs on six hits.
This was the third straight game in which a Curve starter went at least six innings and gave up no more than two runs, as Brandon Cumpton threw six scoreless innings Thursday and Phil Irwin surrendered just one run in seven frames Friday.
Though it turned out to be a six-run win for the Curve, Mike Colla - who entered the game in the seventh inning, when it was 5-2 - threw three scoreless innings for an unconventional nine-out save, his second.
Zack Wheeler (7-4) gave up seven runs - six earned - on in 6 2/3 innings, and though he had RBI double in the fifth, he was saddled with the loss.
SUBHD: Black added to All-star roster
Vic Black was added to the Eastern League All-star roster Saturday.
Black, a flame throwing, right-handed reliever, is 1-1 with four saves and a 1.36 ERA in 33 innings this season. Black also has four saves and has recorded 42 strikeouts.
This is Black's first All-star selection and, he joins teammates Brock Holt, Ramon Cabrera and Brandon Cumpton on the All-star roster.
