Louise M. Askey, 91, Altoona, died Friday.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Samuel and Margaret (Watters) Staines. She married David W. Askey Jr., and he died in January 1977.
Surviving are a daughter, Darlene Zink and her children, Amy Zink, Sheldon Zink and husband, Tim Downs, and Michael Zink; a son, Stephen and his children, Sarah Rogers and husband, Darin, and Samuel Askey; four great-grandchildren: Olivia and Isabella Rogers, Annette Shotz and Franny Downs; a sister-in-law, Bernice Staines; and a niece, Jackie Staines.
She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Donald Zink; and a brother, Jack Staines.
Louise was a 1939 graduate of Altoona High School and had been employed with SKF and as a cook at Wright Elementary School. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and crocheting.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2012, and 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery. Interment will be in Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
