Norma Ruth Bloom, 86, 423 Kemmerer Road, State College, went home to be with the Lord early Thursday morning at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
She was born in Williamsburg, daughter of the late Orvis Keagy and Cora (Shock) Chamberlain. She married her beloved husband of 66 years, Richard Allen Bloom, in 1946 in Townsend, Md.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters: C. Ann and Sherry J., both of State College; a sister, Annette Bowser of Orlando, Fla.; and a brother, Leo Chamberlain of Charlotte, N.C.
She was preceded in death by four brothers: Norman, Hubert, Archie and Wayne Chamberlain.
Norma was a 1945 graduate of Altoona High School and a graduate of the Altoona School of Commerce. She was a member of Alpha Eta Sorority. She attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, State College, and formerly attended Altoona Bible Church.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, followed by a funeral service at noon. Interment will be made at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
