Care Bears hit Toonseum
PITTSBURGH - The ToonSeum: Pittsburgh Museum of Comic Art will host a retrospective exhibit celebrating the 30th anniversary of the beloved and iconic Care Bears. The "Care Bears: 30 Years of Caring and Hugs"exhibit will run from June 29 through Aug. 26.
The ToonSeum's "Care Bears: 30 Years of Caring and Hugs" exhibit comes on the heels of the brand-new Care Bears CG animated series, "Care Bears: Welcome to Care-a-Lot," which debuted on June 2 on The Hub TV Network.

Irish Festival returning
SEVEN SPRINGS - Seven Springs Mountain Resort will present its second annual Irish Festival from July 6 to 8.
Celebrate everything Irish during a weekend featuring plenty of authentic Irish food, traditional Irish entertainment, children's activities, story telling, an Irish marketplace, Irish pub, fireworks and more.
Featured entertainment includes The Screaming Orphans, four sisters who originate from Donegal, Ireland. The group formerly worked for Sinead O'Connor as her back-up vocalists and her opening act.
Additional featured entertainment includes the Rebel Heart Irish Dancers, who are scheduled to perform four times throughout the festival, and a wide variety of Irish musicians.
Festival admission is $7 for adults and free for children under age 12. Tickets can be purchased at the festival gates. Parking for this event is free.
Hours are 4 to 9 p.m. July 6, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. July 7 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 8.
Ragtime fest starts July 20
ORBISONIA - The Fourth Annual Central Pennsylvania Ragtime Festival will be held July 20 through 22 at The Rockhill Trolley Museum at the East Broad Top Railroad.
Performers Adam Swanson, Frederick Hodges and Bryan Wright will perform at 7 p.m. July 20 and 2 and 7 p.m. July 21. The festival will finish with a concert by California ragtime and jazz vocalist Ann Gibson at 4 p.m. July 22.
Following Friday's concert, the performers will hold a meet and greet at the Iron Rail Bed & Breakfast, 371 Meadow St., Rockhill Furnace.

Consort sets schedule
BEDFORD - The Pennsylvania Consort will open its 2012 Summer Music on the Square on Sunday. The slate of free Sunday afternoon outdoor concerts in downtown Bedford will consist of: gospel ensemble The Joyful Notes on Sunday; vocalist Miranda Shank on July 1; the Somerset County Community Band on July 8; guitarist Dave Howsare on July 15; the Mercersburg Area Community Band on July 22; and vocal ensemble Hard Rok, Koko and Joe on July 29.
All concerts begin at 2 p.m. and are held at the gazebo at Pitt and Penn Streets, with the Presbyterian Church serving as the rain date location.
Free concert set for July 4
PATTON - Area bands will play a free concert from 1 to 7 p.m. July 4 at Muskrat Beach, Prince Gallitzin State Park, Patton.
The day-long concert will offer: a tribute to rock from the 1950s and an Elvis tribute, led by Jerry Carnicella at 1 p.m.; a tribute to early '60s pop music by Andy Rhody at 2 p.m.; a tribute to classic country at 3 p.m.; a tribute to the Fab Four by The Beatle Maniacs at 4 p.m.; a reunion of musicians from area bands at 5:30 p.m.; and a tribute to the 1960s, Woodstock, 1970s and 1980s at 6 p.m.
The show will go on rain or shine. Proceeds will benefit the Patton Library. Parking is free.
