The Advanced Center for Surgery at 3280 Pleasant Valley Blvd. is now open for business.
The 12,500-square-foot, multi-specialty surgical building is specifically designed for outpatient orthopedic, podiatric and ear, nose and throat surgical procedures as well as interventional pain management.
"The development of this outpatient surgery center is the next step in continuing to provide the most specialized medical care and service within our community to the residents of Altoona and the surrounding region," center spokesman Dr. Joshua Port said in a statement.
The center offers four modern, technologically advanced operating rooms; state-of-the-art surgical equipment for minimally invasive procedures; specialized anesthesia services, with experience in techniques specific to outpatient and minimally invasive surgery to maximize patient comfort and safety; and a specialized medical staff with experienced surgeons.
The Advanced Center for Surgery currently employs 10 specialized medical professionals from the Altoona area.
All participating surgeons are medical providers in Blair County and will continue their practices at their current locations in addition to providing surgical services at the new facility.
The center also includes a complimentary coffee bar and WiFi.
