Alice Sandra "Sandy" Lloyd, 71, of Irvona passed away Saturday evening at Altoona Regional.
She was born in Knoxville, Tenn., daughter of the late Clyde and Mildred (Linginfelter) Webb.
On July 28, 1962, Sandy married John R. Lloyd Sr., who survives of Irvona. Together they had three sons: John R. Lloyd Jr and his wife, Beth, of Irvona, David M. Lloyd and his friend, Christy, of Laurel, Md., and Bill B. Lloyd and his wife, Julie, of Harpers Ferry, W.V. Sandy was the loving grandmother to Christyn, Nicole, Sarabeth, Jon and Breanna. She is also survived by two sisters-in-laws: Jeanne Webb of Knoxville, Tenn., and Ann Klingler of Holiday Park; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by a sister, Polly Long; and two brothers: John and David Webb.
Sandy was a homemaker and later was employed as a licensed practical nurse.
Sandy was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She appreciated life, especially the simplest things in life.
A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at the Irvona Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Roland R. Emond Jr and the Rev. Robert Klingler co-officiating. Family and friends are invited to a funeral luncheon immediately following the memorial service at St. Michael's Orthodox Church, Irvona.
Sandy's family request in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
