Julie A. Yeckley, 42, of Coalport died Friday at Altoona Regional.
She was born in Philipsburg, daughter of Robert and Janet (Bandrowsky) Wilk. She married Hugh "JR" Yeckley on Oct. 2, 1993, at St. Basil Catholic Church, Coalport.
She is survived by her father; her husband; two sons: Sean and Matthew, both at home; two sisters: Jeanette (Daniel) Williams, and Susan Wilk; grandmother, Julia (Kent) Bandrowsky; special niece and nephew: Abigail and Daniel Williams, all of Coalport; mother-in-law, Becky (Kline) Yeckley of Patton; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother on July 28, 2007; and father-in-law, Hugh Yeckley Sr. on March 12, 2008.
Julie was a 1990 graduate of Altoona Hospital School of Nursing and was named valedictorian of her class.
She worked as a registered nurse at Altoona Hospital for 22 years and 10 years for Home Nursing Agency, Altoona.
Julie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially at her sons' band and sporting events, gardening, trips to Virginia Beach and collecting seashells.
She was a member and treasurer of Glendale Medical Center Auxiliary, member and secretary of Glendale Band Boosters, Past President of P.T.O., and member of St. Basil Catholic Church, Coalport, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Zab Amar and the Rev. Jason Feigh as concelebrants. Committal will be at St. Basil Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Gibbons Funeral Home, Coalport, where a vigil service will be held Monday.
