Altoona's next step in a potential state championship run will take the Mountain Lions to Hershey High School.
The District 6 Class AAAA champion Lions will take on District 1 runner-up Council Rock South in the PIAA semifinals on Monday. The game is scheduled to start at noon, because Council Rock South's graduation is that evening.
Council Rock South is located in Bucks County on the eastern side of Philadelphia. The Golden Hawks are 21-2 and are in the state semifinals one year removed from a run to the PIAA quarterfinals in 2011.
Altoona is believed to be making its first appearance in the PIAA semifinals and brings a 16-5 mark into Monday's game.
