LEADING OFF: CF Robbie Grossman missed his third straight game Wednesday. Manager P.J. Forbes texted the Mirror after the game and said it was for an "in-house reason" but did not elaborate. Grossman had been hitting as well as he has all season before the benching. In his last nine games, he batted .275 (11-for-40) with four multi-hit games. He's hitting .217 for the season.
SAFE AT FIRST: Forget a case of the Mondays. The Curve have a case of the Wednesdays this season. With the loss, the Curve are now 2-8 when playing on Wednesday, and are 25-22 on all other days of the week.
STEALING SECOND: OF Quincy Latimore's 10-game hitting streak ended as he went 0-for-4. During the streak, Latimore was 12-for-31 (.387) with two home runs and seven RBIs.
ROUNDING THIRD: 3B Kelson Brown committed a fielding error in the second inning, which brought the Curve's four-game errorless streak to a halt.
HEADING HOME: After splitting the first two games of a three-game set, the Curve will meet the R-Phils again tonight. So far this season, the Curve are 2-1 in the rubber game of a series.
