Reading the comments generated by this article was so disheartening that I almost didn't write this, but I was reminded of the comment "Financial gain was never Coach Paterno's top priority."
You will notice that Joe was one of the most underpaid coaches in college football for 60 years. You might also notice that he gave most of his earnings back to the university in donations.
What other man can you say that about?
He truly loved his school, and it's a shame that they didn't return the favor.
I have been a season ticket holder for over 30 years, through thick and thin, but I don't think I can bring myself to enter that stadium again after the way the trustees treated Joe.
