Marathon will be held Aug. 10-12 in Blair County
Easter Seals Central Pennsylvania will hold its 28th annual Softball Marathon on Aug. 10, 11 and 12.
Easter Seals is recruiting teams to come out and play softball in support of local children and adults with disabilities and special needs. Teams are comprised of 12 to 20 players.
Each team is asked to raise a minimum registration fee of $450 for 12 players or $600 for 20 players to play in one three-hour softball game.
Teams can be of any ability level. Games will be played at various baseball and softball fields throughout Blair County.
Registered teams will receive one case of Roaring Spring Bottled Water and one case of Coors Light, and each player will receive a commemorative T-shirt.
Prize packages and trophies will be awarded to the top three fundraising teams. Trophies will be given to the winner of each individual softball game.
This year's sponsors include Albemarle, Inco Beverage, Roaring Spring Bottled Water, Rocky 104.9, Duncansville VFW, AMBUCS, Randy Moyer Auto Glass and D. Merl Tipton VFW Post 43. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available.
Volunteers to assist during Softball Marathon games are also needed.
