Curve drop 2nd in a row

May 28, 2012
The Altoona Mirror

From Mirror reports

BOWIE, Md. - The Curve have been playing substantially better ball the past two weeks, but they fell back into some bad habits and beat themselves Sunday afternoon.

Two walks, a wild pitch and an error cost Altoona dearly, and Bowie needed only one big hit to post a 4-2 win at Prince George's Stadium. So after climbing back within two games of .500 entering play Saturday, the Curve have now lost two in a row to drop back to 22-26.

The Baysox once again had a lineup loaded with Baltimore Orioles rehabbing players as Brian Roberts led off and played second base, Endy Chavez batted second and played left field and Mark Reynolds batted third and played third base. Those three combined to go just 1-for-9 but did score two of Bowie's runs.

The Curve grabbed a quick lead as Robbie Grossman doubled to start the game and scored on a double by Tony Sanchez. Bowie answered, though, with a run in its half of the first and three more in the second to take control.

Curve mistakes helped the Baysox score all of their runs.
