Brian M. Zitzlsperger, 32, Altoona, died Thursday at UPMC-Monte Fiore Hospital, Pittsburgh, after an extended illness.
He was born in Altoona, son of Frank X. and Shirley L. (Fraundorfer) Zitzlsperger. He married Amber M. McDermott on Aug. 24, 2002, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Lakemont.
Surviving are his parents; his wife; a daughter, Olivia M. and a son, Nathaniel X., both at home; a sister, Laurie A. (Thomas) Ricketts of Hollidaysburg; parents-in-law, Helen Hardy and Larry McDermott; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Mr. Zitzlsperger was a 1997 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School. He had worked for Atlantic Broadband as a cable installer with three years of service. He was a lifetime member of Bavarian Aid Society, National Bowling Association and Brush Mountain Sportsmen Association.
Brian was an avid Notre Dame and Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed bowling and vacationing in Ocean City, Md.
He was a great father, a great son and a great husband. He will be deeply missed. His smile and personality lit up a room.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, Pa. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church by Monsignor Timothy Stein.
Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a trust fund for Olivia and Nathaniel.
