Covering the bases

May 26, 2012
The Altoona Mirror

LEADING OFF: The Curve have won four straight road games - all of them coming in Bowie - and half of the team's eight road wins have come at Prince George's Stadium.

SAFE AT FIRST: The Curve are now a perfect 20-0 when leading after eight innings. But on the flipside, they are 0-17 when trailing after the eighth.

STEALING SECOND: LF Quincy Latimore has a double in each of his last four games. He is 6-for-13 (.462) with four RBIs in that span.

ROUNDING THIRD: RHP Kyle Cofield was activated from the disabled list on Friday. In 13 innings for the Curve, Cofield is 0-1 with a 3.46 ERA.

HEADING HOME: Today will be the first time the Curve face a pitcher making a major rehab start this season. LHP Zach Britton, who went 11-11 with a 4.61 ERA for the Orioles last season, will get the nod for Bowie.
