Francine M. Barszczowski

Francine M. Barszczowski, 70, of Henrietta, rural Martinsburg, passed away Thursday at her home after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Michael and Catherine (Krochtiak) Reith. She married Edward F. Barszczowski on April 29, 1961, at St. Michael's Church in Pittsburgh.

Surviving are her husband; four daughters: Linda C. Brown (husband, Ken) of Martinsburg, Noreen F. Brumbaugh (husband, Adam) of State College, Diane C. Miller (husband, Ken) of York and Susan M. Tepsic (husband, Joseph M. Jr.) of Duncansville; 11 grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and a brother, Michael of St. Petersburg, Fla.

She was preceded in death by a son, Gregg E., on March 23, 1999; two sisters: Catherine McNamee and Elaine Krocker; and a brother, Herbert.

Francine was a 1960 graduate of St. Michael's Catholic High School, Pittsburgh.

She was primarily a homemaker, but she also assisted her husband in the daily operations of Ed's Riverside, Martinsburg.

Francine was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Roaring Spring. She was a member of Martinsburg Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

Francine enjoyed horses, sewing, quilting and flower gardening.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012, at John C. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, where a vigil for the deceased will be recited Thursday evening. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2012, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Roaring Spring, with the Rev. Leo A. Lynch officiating. Private inurnment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

The family prefers memorial contributions be given to the Martinsburg Volunteer Fire Company.
