John R. Ritchea Jr., 50, Huntingdon, formerly of Washington, Pa., died Sunday morning at Altoona Regional after a brief illness.
He was born in Lakewood, Ohio, son of the late John R. Sr. and Betty (Stewart) Ritchea. He married Lori Smith on March 21, 1992, in Canonsburg.
Surviving are his wife; his faithful dog, Max, and cat, Ozzie; his parents-in-law, Ronald and Paulette Smith of Clermont, Fla.; two brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
John was a 1979 graduate of Trinity High School, Washington, Pa. He had been employed for 21 years as a foreman with Polymer Grinding, Houston, Pa., and he was of the Protestant faith. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan and enjoyed NASCAR, reading and fishing.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing. Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Bare Memorial Church of God, 508 E. Main St., Roaring Spring, followed by a celebration of life service at 2 p.m. by Pastor Mark Halliday. Inurnment will be made in Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
Contributions in John's memory may be given to the funeral home.
