Event will benefit the American Cancer Society

HOLLIDAYSBURG - The American Cancer Society's Sapphire and Spurs Gala will be held at 6 p.m. June 1 at the Scotch Valley Country Club.

This year's theme, "Sapphire and Spurs,'' provides an opportunity to incorporate a western flair into the event, which is in its eighth year. The evening will include cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, a martini bar, dinner, dancing, gaming, music by Steve Kelsey and a silent auction.

"She has been a longtime volunteer, working both in the office, fundraising through the gala, Daffodil Days, Relay For Life and Grocers Fight Cancer Day. Judy has also worked on legislative advocacy with our government representatives.''
