Portage hands Conemaugh Valley first loss

JOHNSTOWN - Emily McCabe homered, drove in three runs and pitched a complete game, allowing just one run and striking out 10 as Portage handed Conemaugh Valley its first loss of the season, 6-1, on Tuesday in high school softball.

Becca Gorba added a double and a pair of RBIs for the Lady Mustangs (7-8).

P-O JH defeats Tyrone

TYRONE -Thanks to four RBIs from McKendz Kephart, Philipsburg-Osceola defeated Tyrone, 16-5, in the A game in junior high action.

In the B game, the Lady Mounties won 13-1.

Lady Tiger juniors swept

HOLLIDAYSBURG - Hollidaysburg dropped a doubleheader to Central Mountain, 7-2 and 2-1.

Marissa Maher and Annie Ruggles each had a hit for Hollidaysburg (4-8-1) in the first game, and Emily Dick gave up just four hits in the second game.

Seventh grade: Central Mountain 6-0; Central Mountain 18-5.
