Ricky L. "Rick" Dobson Sr., 55, Altoona, died Wednesday evening at Altoona Regional from complications of a heart attack.
He was born in Altoona, son of Anna Mae (Vipond) Dobson and the late H. Roy Dobson Sr. He married Barbara A. (Robin) Bender on July 7, 1977, in Altoona.
Surviving are his wife; two sons: Rick L. Jr. "JR" at home and Bradley S. and wife, Rebecca, of Altoona; his mother of Altoona; two brothers: Bill and wife, Barb, of Sinking Valley and Ken and companion, Coleen, of Indiana, Pa.; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard R. Jr.
Rick was a 1975 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He was employed as a school bus driver for the Altoona Area School District/Student Transportation of America for the past 24 years. He loved hunting and enjoyed family and friends.
Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2012, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2012, the Rev. Mark Lingenfelter officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
