B-A’s Finn drives in six in rout of Damsels

BELLWOOD - Bellwood-Antis pounded out 16 hits in two innings, and Taylor Payne struck out nine in three innings and yielded only a bunt hit in a 15-0 rout of Moshannon Valley in high school softball on Wednesday.

Freshman Jacqueline Finn had three hits, including a home run and a double, and drove in six runs. Emily Nagle also had three hits, and teammates Payne, Anna Wolfe and Meghan McCaulley had two hits each.

MILL HALL - Winning pitcher Morgan Glover knocked in two runs as part of a five-run rally in the top of the fourth as Huntingdon raised its record to 7-4 by coming back to win at Central Mountain in a Mountain League contest.

Glover scattered six hits, and Kiley Dubbs also drove in a run for the Lady Bearcats. Paige Vickey had two hits for CM.

B-A juniors belt Damsels

BELLWOOD-The Bellwood-Antis junior high softball team improved to 5-3 with a 12-2, five-inning win over Moshannon Valley.

Winning pitcher Kaylee Garver struck out six, walked two and gave up one hit. Teammates Caroline Showalter had two hits and scored two runs while Paige Padula drove in two runs and scored two runs.

Moshannon Valley fell to 5-8.
