Dragons outlast Eagles, 23-22, in extras

MARTINSBURG - Brandon Negley singled in Zach Croft with one out in the bottom of the eighth inning of a game with 45 runs and 41 hits to lift Central to a wild 23-22 win over Tyrone in high school baseball on Monday.

Austin Cunningham, Logan Stern, Kasy Hamm and Croft had three hits each for the Scarlet Dragons. Tyrone's Jake Belinda and Kaden Hunter had four hits apiece in the Golden Eagles' 22-hit attack, and teammates Brad Wirtner and Adam Flick had three hits apiece.

FLINTON - In a game with 33 runs, including 13 in the seventh inning, 29 hits and 20 walks, Curwensville survived a late Glendale rally to win.

Glendale's Michael Wigfield, Mitchell Gedman and Patrick Hamilton had three hits each in their 20-hit attack, and teammates Tim Sutton, Jarid Ivory, Billy Sanders and Justin Kephart had two hits each. Jesse Zorger and Kyle Bloom had two hits apiece for Curwensville.

The Golden Tide scored seven in the seventh, and the Vikings scored six, and there were runners on second and third when the final out was made.
