Blair Hall dinner nearing a sellout

A very limited number of tickets are available for the Blair County Sports Hall of Fame dinner on Saturday, April 28 at the Blair County Convention Center.

Set for induction are former St. Francis basketball player and current Williamsburg coach Don Appleman, former Maryland football player Todd Benson, former minor league baseball player Harold "Bucky" Bush, former Duquesne University and WNBA player Candace Futrell, former Villanova basketball player Allen Griffith and Tyrone Area High School's PIAA championship football team of 1999.

Ken Koronowski of the Altoona Area Youth Hockey Association will receive the Community Service Award, and the 2012 Hall of Fame scholarship recipients are Adena Delozier of Altoona Area High School and Matt Ritchey of Central High School.

The featured guest speaker for the evening is Pittsburgh Steeler quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

More than 1000 tickets have already been sold. The Hall of Fame's record attendance was 1100 in 2008 when Hines Ward was the guest speaker.

Tickets are priced at $85 each or $850 for tables of 10. For information, call Kathy Millward at 296-2302.
