Williamsburg breaks up no-hitter, edges B-A

BELLWOOD - Williamsburg's Haley Rhule broke up a no-hitter by Bellwood-Antis' Taylor Payne with a leadoff triple to right field in the top of the seventh inning of a scoreless high school softball game on Tuesday.

The next batter, Kara Stayduhar, singled her in, and Williamsburg pitcher Tori Murtiff made the run stand in a 1-0 win that was played in less than an hour.

The game was a pitchers' duel between Williamsburg's Tori Murtiff, who struck out one, walked two and gave up five hits, and Payne, who struck out six and walked none.
