Claycomb’s big hit propels C-K by Lady Dragons

MARTINSBURG - Hannah Claycomb knocked in three runs with two hits, including a two-run single in the seventh inning that broke a 4-4 tie, as unbeaten Claysburg-Kimmel topped Central, 7-5, in high school softball on Monday.

Lydia Fleck added two RBIs for Claysburg (4-0).

Glendale juniors sweep

FLINTON - The Glendale junior high softball team improved to 3-1 with a twinbill sweep at home over Harmony.

Glendale won the opener, 15-0, behind the combined shutout of Kyla Holtz and Jillian Stiver. Anna Fowler drove in two runs.

In the nightcap, Glendale won 13-1 behind the 8-strikeout performance of Ellie Leyo. Teammate Cassie Brink drove in two runs.

Altoona juniors fall

JOHNSTOWN - Conemaugh Valley knocked off Altoona, 13-4, in junior high softball.
