Penn State's football recruiting is taking off at a break-neck pace.
New coach Bill O'Brien and his staff got verbal commitments from Virginia quarterback Christian Hackenberg and Ohio cornerback Ross Douglas, and, on Sunday, they added one from Little Silver, N.J., Red Bank Regional High School defensive end Garrett Sickels, the 50th-ranked prospect in the country according to Rivals.com.
The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Sickels has an impressive scholarship offer list that includes Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Stanford and Tennessee.
Sickels, who visited Penn State for its Feb. 18 junior day with Hackenberg and Douglas, had 76 tackles, 10 sacks and three forced fumbles his junior season.
